ECOTEC has been awarded a contract by the five London Learning and Skills Councils (LSCs) to manage a pan-London European Social Fund (ESF) Objective 3 round between 2004 and 2007. This represents an exciting opportunity to support those most at a disadvantage in the London labour market through strategic interventions delivered in partnership across the capital.

The contract involves managing and assessing applications, contracting with projects, ensuring delivery of outputs during project lifetimes as well as contributing to programme closure. It is envisaged that around 60 projects will be contracted through approximately 50 provider organisations using co-financed ESF/LSC funds following a single bidding round in 2004. Project delivery will run for two years from January 2005 to December 2006.

The ECOTEC Pan London Objective 3 team will undertake a number of roles:

• managing the project application process from a launch event through assessment of bids and contracting with projects;
• supporting, monitoring and auditing projects through all stages of their life-cycles to project closure;
• processing payment claims;
• publicity, dissemination and awareness raising, including liasing with London LSCs, the Government Office for London and other co-financing organsiations.
